In the latest issue of the German horse magazine, "Züchterforum" there is an article about August der Starke's Elfenröschen mare line.

The mare line of our Grand Prix stallion, who sired, among others, Augustin OLD and Augustina, the dam of the stallions Roi du Soleil and Roseborough, can be officially followed in records for 170 years but began to really bloom when Elfenröschen came aong. The bay Element daughter, born in 1957 in the stables of Karl Böse from Borstel/GER, is the great great granddam of August der Starke and his full brother August der Dritte, who also breeds. This line is also the origin of the Celle State Stud stallion Comte and another licensed stallion named Swag as well as the internationally successful dressage horses Flashdancer and Goldfinger/both Anna Merveldt-Steffens/IRL.
