Blind Date got off to a great start at the State Championships held at Gutenhof in Himberg.

Blind Date won the first of the two parts of the competition, the Grand Prix, by a clear lead of 74.52 percent. The Breitling W daughter (bred by Margrethe Klare), who was trained by the Wittigs, had a bold ride with many highlights. And we were also lucky with the weather. Yesterday they had debated about holding the tests in the indoor because of continuous rain but today the sun came out once in a while. But some of the riders got soaked by heavy showers in between anyway.

My WEG team colleaque, Karin Kosak, took second place on Florentino (68.24 percent). Markus Jungwirth finished third with Count Basle (66.78). Katharina Wünschek, nicknamed "Kizi", took fourth place on Salieri OLD.

Tomorrow, Sunday, the Final will be held, a Grand Prix Freestyle.
