München/GER: Assessment

Pferd international in Munich/GER is not quite over yet but I can already sum up the event which except for the weather was very good.

After having to be satisfied with third place in the Grand Prix in the World Dressage Masters leg, Blind Date won the Special – and with a lead of more than three percentage points. His piaffe-passage tour was even better than the last times when he won in Salzburg, Bremen/GER, Dormund/GER and Stadl-Paura and his transitions and flying changes were absolute highlights that the judges also honoured with high scores. And since I am certain that we still have some potential to be even better, I’m working very hard on fine tuning everything. Blind Date and I have only been ‘dating’ for not quite a whole year and Munich was only our sixth international show. My trainer, Wolfram Wittig, was also very pleased with us. And the press gave us a lot of praise – which you can read in the online issue of the German horse magazine, St. Georg.

The year has really only just begun and there’s still a lot of work to do. The 2013 outdoor season that will end with the EC in Herning, Denmark, has just begun and I am going to be spending a lot of time working on the details of a new freestyle for Blind Date.

We were also extremely pleased that our young horses did so well in Munich. With such good youngsters in the pipeline, I don't think we need to worry about the future too much.
